Who's Making That Mess? (Usborne Lift-The-Flap Book)
Published in Paperback by E D C Publications (June, 1994)
Authors: Philip Hawthorn, Jenny Tyler, Stephen Cartwright, and Jenny Tyler Stephen
Average review score:

Cute cute cute
My two year old absolutely adored this book, and we had to read it hundreds of times. It includes two of his favorite elements - lifting a flap and finding something hidden - and it is well written enough to keep adults charmed throughout countless re-readings.

A great book for discussion with young children.
You have to guess who is making the mess on each page by lifting the flap, then you have to find their missing article from the mess on the page. This is a great book for discussion and observation skills. Suitable for children 3-6 years, and early readers 6+. Includes lots of repetition

100 Years of Western Wear
Published in Hardcover by Gibbs Smith Publisher (November, 1993)
Authors: Tyler Beard and Jim Arndt
Average review score:

Great book about western wear
For cowgirl living in The Netherlands, born and raised, this book I found in a Dutch bookstore about 4 years ago, is a great source about western wear.
About a year ago I got a signed book of Tyler. So now I own two of them. One to cherrish for ever and the other one to use for ideas to create new tailor made western wear I make myself.
It's a great source and a must have for westernwear lovers.

365 Adventures: Explore, Discover, Try Someting New Everyday
Published in Paperback by Discovery Kids (04 December, 2000)
Authors: Marc Tyler Nobleman, Sarah Ketchersid, and Marc Tyler Nobleman
Average review score:

Even if you don't have kids, buy this book!
Wow!

365 Adventures is a fantastic book!

If you're a parent like me, you sometimes draw a mental blank when trying to find creative and enriching activities to do with your children. This book fills in those blanks!

It's full of adventures that you and your kids can do NOW (Make bookmarks, Create a secret identity), adventures you can do in a few hours (Make juice pops) and adventures that you can spread over a day or more (Make a personality collage, Invent a board game).

365 Adventures is not merely a list of 365 super-cool activities; each suggested adventure includes a paragraph or two about the activity and plenty of hints to get you started. Most of the ideas also include helpful advice to make certain the adventure is a success. "Don't put your birdbath on the picnic table or lawn furniture - unless you like bird poop, that is" is one humorous tidbit that comes to mind.

There are plenty of adventures in the book that my six-year-old can enjoy right now and others, like Make a map and Build a bat house, that we plan on conquering when she gets a bit older.

Even if you don't have children to share these activities with, I still recommend that you read this book. Many of the adventures would be great fun to do all by yourself or with a spouse or significant other.

All in all, a great book, ideal for rainy days and sunny days alike!

Advances in Marine Biology: The Biology of Calanoid Copepods (Vol 33)
Published in Hardcover by Academic Press (June, 1998)
Authors: John Mauchline, Alan J. Southward, John H. Blaxter, and Paul Tyler
Average review score:

The ultimate copepod anthology
What, an *entire* book on copepods? Yes, and at a necessary length as well. The most abundant metazoan on the planet has now been given its proper due. This is a vital resource for not only plankton researchers, but should also have a close and easy spot on any marine ecologist's bookshelf. This is a true treatise of calanoid copepod biology including: systematics, anatomy, physiology, ecology and behavior. I can think of no other single source that is so useful to instructors and plankton researchers.

After Lydia
Published in Hardcover by Harcourt (April, 1995)
Author: Sandra Tyler
Average review score:

A woman explores family relationships while returning home
"After Lydia" was not about Vickie's mother or her mother's death as much as it was about her relationship with her sister. I found ALL the relationships genuinely realistic. The conclusion was particularly satisfying as a real life scenario. I have recommended this novel to many people.

The After-Christmas Tree
Published in School & Library Binding by Viking Press (October, 1990)
Authors: Linda Wagner Tyler and Susan Davis
Average review score:

The After Christmas Tree
When it's time to take down the Christmas tree, don't let the "end of holiday blues" strike your children. Read this story and then continue the Christmas spirit of giving by decorating your discarded Christmas tree for the birds (and any other creatures searching for food in the dead of the winter!) A great family book and activity. Also a great activity for Kindergarten teachers to use when students return from Christmas vacation!

Anne Tyler : A Critical Companion
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Press (October, 1998)
Author: Paul Bail
Average review score:

Great Resource About a Great Author
Anne Tyler is a perceptive writer with an original, slightly off-kilter style. This book includes a chapter of biographical material on Anne Tyler, as well as another chapter discussing the major influences on her--other Southern writers and women writers. There is an extensive discussion of several of her best novels, from the beginning of her career through 1998. Each novel gets a whole chapter devoted to it. Stylistic peculiarities, construction of the novels, character development and theme are covered, with unique insights into how each novel reflects themes in Anne Tyler's life. Tyler shunned publicity and gave very few interviews, but did consent to an interview with the author of this book in order to clarify some fine points. Well researched and well written, this is a treasure for anyone who appreciates Tyler's work.

Anne Tyler: Three Complete Novels: A Patchwork Planet * Ladder of Years * Saint Maybe
Published in Hardcover by Sterling Publishing (October, 2001)
Author: Anne Tyler
Average review score:

Amazing bargain
This volume is a collection of three novels by Anne Tyler: "A Patchwork Planet" of 1998, "Ladder of Years" of 1995, and "Saint Maybe" of 1991. Hardbound and durable, this volume is a better option for a reader who has started reading Anne Tyler, and even for the reader who already owns one or two paperbacks with novels contained in this volume. This volume is simply beautiful. Pleasant serif typeface, good, bright paper, nice cover artwork, and finally, amazingly low cost. You get three hardbound novels for a price of one paperback. In addition, all three novels of Anne Tyler belong to the more interesting subset of her literary heritage, so there is really nothing to be suspicious about here. Psst, do not tell anyone I have said that, but such bargains are possible only in North America. Nowhere else I would be able to get hold of three interesting novels combined in one hardbound volume for almost nothing. Do not hesitate, dear reader, and rush to purchase this collection. Now!
